Meet Erica!  This petite and sweet girl with the most-perfect nose had a difficult past but she hasn’t let that get her down.  When Erica came to us (with the help of a good Samaritan near Co Op City in the Bronx) , she had a mangled tail, something had been wrapped around it so tight that her wound went almost to the bone.  Despite multiple treatments, vet visits, and a lot of time, love, and patience, we learned the only option was to amputate Erica’s tail.  Luckily, her surgery went off without a hitch and she recovered fully and beautifully in her adoring foster home.  Erica is a total love who enjoys a good belly rub and neck scratch. She sleeps curled up with foster mom and sleeps on the bed in her spot during the day. It took her time to gain this level of trust. She is still reserved with new people (given her past we aren't surprised) but she gets more comfortable with time.  We think Erica prefers women as she is very bonded with her foster mommy and has yet to really warm up to her foster dad.  We would like her to go to a home with at least one female human who is ready for a loving, devoted cat.  Erica is ok with other (chill) cats and dogs, but she will do best in a quiet home without young children.  We estimate her to be about a year old – she is still occasionally playful and has the funniest "Zoomies" across the house, but mostly just wants to lounge around and get snuggles from her hooman.  Please let us know if you think you are the purr-fect home for Erica!   She deserves only the very best!
