Meet Rey, a testament to perseverance and coming back from impossible circumstances to thrive- named after her Star Wars character counterpart, Rey is a testament to what TLC can do. Rey was rescued dragging her back end, emaciated, and sick with a horrible respiratory infection. At first, we did not know if she would survive. We took her to a specialty vet where they confirmed she had previously fractured pelvic bones. likely from a car or person. The fractures had already begun to heal, and there was not anything we could do to fix it. The good news , was they said the way they healed, did not compromise her ability to normally use the litter box. At first she was so weak she could barely stand. After a couple of weeks with healthy food and TLC, and medications, she regained her strength and started to use the litter box like the champion she is! She started to do all the normal things all cats do, and could walk, and run! We were so happy we could cry. Her spirit is strong. Rey battled persistent URI's from a long time of neglect outside , and occasionally still has big sneezes . We have been doing everything we can to get her ready for the life she deserves, and the foster parents adore her so much! She snuggles with them on the couch, and loves to watch bird TV on You Tube! She adorably loves to toss her lamb chop toy in the air to play (videos to come!) . Since we brought Dorito in to be reunited with her (since their times in a very dangerous area for cats) they've become best buddies, snuggling and playing together. It would be a dream to have them adopted together into the right home that will never let them down and give them all the snuggles they so much deserve.
